About Damianne
I help women over 40 stop waiting for permission to go.
Solo travel is rarely only about the destination. It is about remembering that your wanting counts, your comfort matters, and your life does not have to stay on hold until someone else is ready.
I’m Damianne President. I was born in Saint Lucia, raised there and in Canada, and shaped by years of living and working in India, Sudan, Japan, and Prague.
I have taken more than 45 solo trips. You do not need to be fearless, extroverted, endlessly flexible, or the kind of person who loves every minute alone.
You need a trip that fits who you are now.
That might mean a city where you can walk and eat well. It might mean a retreat with structure around the edges. It might mean a hotel instead of an Airbnb because that helps you feel steadier. It might mean starting with dinner alone before you book a flight.
There are workarounds. There are ways to move through the world that invite adventure, pleasure, and care without asking you to ignore your own nervous system.
Welcome to Freedom Looks Like This
I kept hearing women say some version of the same thing: “I’m waiting for my husband.” “I’m waiting for the kids to leave home.” “I’m waiting until it feels safer.” “I’m waiting until someone can come.”
Sometimes waiting is wisdom. Sometimes it is a season. And sometimes it becomes a way of disappearing from your own life.
This work is not about escape. It is about being more intentional in the world you already live in, then coming back with something that changes how you show up in your life.
Start where you are.
If solo travel keeps tapping you on the shoulder, you can start small, get honest, and choose the next step that feels real.
